About Photoelectric Sensors
EX-F60/F70 Series - Leak Detection Sensors
- Reliable detection using capillary effect
- Compact, space saving design
- High speed detection
The EX-F70/F60 series of leak detection sensors offer a unique and reliable method of protecting your equipment against leaks. Using a capillary effect, the sensor utilizes the change in refractive index to detect small leaks and viscous liquids. The built-in amplifier sensor offers a compact design, and is available in general purpose (water detection) and chemical-resistant types. A convenient LED indicator allows for simple verification of fault conditions. There is no need for sensitivity adjustments, and two simple mounting bracket styles facilitate simple installation!

EX-F1 Series - Pipe-Mountable Liquid Level Detection Sensors
Tube-mountable liquid level detection sensor
- Self contained integrated amplifier
The EX-F1 is a liquid level sensor with an integrated amplifier, thus there is no need to install a separate amplifier. Just attach it to a tube with two tying bands. The position can be easily changed with the release lever even after mounting, so that there is no need to cut the tying bands. Either Light-ON or Dark-ON can be selected by a switch. This is useful to check the operation during installation because it forces the output to be turned ON or OFF even without the liquid being inside the pipe. The built-in output indicator allows for quick verification of the output condition.

Reliable Object Detection for Industrial AutomationThese photoelectric sensors excel in industrial automation applications, ensuring precise object presence and position detection. Their high resolution and fast response time enable seamless performance on high-speed conveyor belts or safety monitoring systems. Adjustable sensitivity and compatibility with both NPN/PNP and relay outputs offer flexibility across various operational needs.
Robust Protection in Challenging EnvironmentsWith an IP66 rating, these sensors are highly resistant to dust and water, making them suitable for use in tough industrial environments. The combination of ABS plastic and metal in the construction, along with short-circuit and reverse polarity protection, enhances durability and operational safety. Their immunity to high ambient light (up to 10,000 lux sunlight) ensures reliable performance indoors and outdoors.
FAQ's of Photoelectric Sensors:
Q: How do these photoelectric sensors detect objects with high accuracy?
A: The sensors utilize infrared or red LED light sources to detect objects as small as 0.5 mm. Their advanced optics and high-resolution capabilities (0.1 mm) ensure precise and reliable detection even in dynamic industrial applications.
Q: What is the typical process for installing and configuring these sensors?
A: Installation involves mounting the sensor using a panel or bracket, connecting the pre-wired cable (2 meters) to your control system, and adjusting sensitivity as needed. Configuration is straightforward thanks to features like LED indicators and easily adjustable sensitivity settings.
Q: Where are these sensors commonly used?
A: These photoelectric sensors are widely used in industrial automation, safety systems, and object positioning applications. They are ideal for conveyor lines, packaging machines, robotic systems, and assembly processes requiring precise detection capabilities.
Q: When is it beneficial to use these sensors over other detection types?
A: These sensors are especially advantageous when fast response time (<1 ms), high accuracy (1% FS), immunity to ambient light, and non-contact detection are critical. Their ability to detect small or fast-moving objects makes them highly beneficial in demanding automation settings.
Q: What benefits do the short-circuit and reverse polarity protections offer?
A: These protections prevent accidental damage to the sensor and control systems during installation or voltage fluctuations, helping ensure stable and safe long-term operation in challenging industrial conditions.
Q: How do the switching frequency and response time affect usage?
A: A high switching frequency (500 Hz) and a rapid response time (<1 ms) enable quick and accurate detection of objects, making these sensors well-suited for high-speed automation tasks that require immediate feedback and fast positioning.
